AH26 - Asian Highway 26 Yolanda Riders Survivors Reminisces Tragic Storm

exactly!
Hard to believe it's been more that a year now when the tempest hit the country.  Yolanda, dubbed as the strongest typhoon in the world since, had destroyed many lives and properties, with Tacloban the hardest hit in the land.  It was there that MDPPA's program, the AH26 or the Asian Highway number 26, riders experienced the wrath of a raging storm.  With their bikes destroyed, the riders hitched a ride on a plane Manla-bound, with nothing taking back home but memories of sadness and survival.  Their belongings and beloved motorcycles kaput by Yolanda, drenched and crushed between fallen walls.

November 29, 2014 saw the reunion of the survivors at the calmer coastal area of Matabungkay.  Al Fresco Resort served as abode for the night, as well as silent witness to thousands of anecdotes of the AH26 riders, of their own survival.  MDPPA celebrated this feat of survival by clinking toasts and wonderful foods.  The night was capped with the raffling off of a few items for the added fun of the night such as Honda vests, Suzuki shirts and Yamaha bags.  Of the 26 AH26 riders plus 3 Quezon Province guest riders, five luckier still survivor got to take home five brand new beautiful lids from Spyder, the Recon model.

Come next day, it was a beautiful, sunny day for a leisurely Sunday ride, a far cry from last year's vengeful and deadly weather.
