Ah yes, the familiar livery of Repsol Honda. Like! |
Feel the thrill of Honda.
It's Honda's newest battlecry as they launch the one of the most anticipated products of the year, the new 2016 Honda CBR150R at the Red Zone event in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The motorcycle media got a chance to test ride the bike in a time trial in a specially designed race track inside the BGC. Filling out for other media people who weren't able attend, yours truly decided to get to know the CBR150R up close.
Emceed by Mr. Mike Potenciano of Turbo Time, the motorcycle media geared up to ride the entry-level sportsbike. It has been a while since I got to ride on the track at the fastest speed as possible, I was pumped up. We heard that Mr. Mel Aquino, a veteran racer and host of Motorsiklo News wouldn't be able to make it because of a commitment. We openly cheered as that meant one less fast guy off the grid. But to joyful disappointment, somebody more sinister and unforgiving has taken hin place, Mr. Mickey Mazo! Yeah that guy! Oh well, there goes my trophy!
Fellow media guys who participated in the time trial event were Mr. Ricci Abrina of Maximum Torque, Mr. Philip Bonza of Inside Racing, Mr. Inigo Roces Manila Bulletin, Minters. Paulo de Leon and Jon Go of Ride and Drive, Mr. Emman Balmes of Mo2rista, Misters Meng Sevilla and AJ Lim of TurbanRider and of course, in lieu of Mel Aquino, Mr. Mickey Mazo. The podium finishers are:
1. Mickey Mazo of Motorsiklo News
2. Jon Go of Ride and Drive
3. Meng Sevilla of Turbanrider (yey!)
Afterwards, the riders got their chance to whip out the CBR150R themselves, getting their chance at the race track. Also, all the Gen S bikes of Honda are available for test riding at a separate section of the area.
Booths from sponsor manufacturers were also there such as KOSO, IRC, Faito, RK Chains, Spyder, Motobuy, and MTRT.
Nice touch on the concert of Parokya ni Edgar!
Congrats Honda for the wonderful event!
