Partakan Ride and Rock Year 3

It's that time of the year again guys.  After having our Visita Iglesia, we can all go way up north to Puzo Rubo Sta. Ana Cagayan for the much awaited Partakan Rock and Ride Fest Year 3.  It was so fun that last two Partakans, and the TurbanRider wouldn't be expecting less this year.  They got lots of gimmicks, games and events to look forward to.   One team can event win a grand moolah of P25,000!

See you all guys!

UPDATE!

Partkan Ride and Rock Festival Year 3

To your wondering brain, partakan means speed or to be more specific, a race.  This has been my 3rd time coming to this event Sta. Ana never fails to awe us with its good roads, white sand beaches, cool blue waters and a sea of imported vans!

As a media, I was given the option of taking a plane.  But my itchy butt and twitchy right palm dictated that I should ride.  As the two previous Partakans, yes I did twist the throttle all the way up there and back.

Coming from my house, the ride is roughly 700 kilometers.  But the first half is hellish; the traffic of Metro Manila, which extends to the not so nice roads of neighboring provinces.  Then there’s the dreaded Dalton Pass which is known for its day-long, kilometres of traffic jams.  But riding gets easier and more fun once in Cagayan.  Smooth roads, all the way up.  But me and my backride Mhai decided to sleep the night in Santiago, it was pass midnight, and sleep beckoned.

At sunrise, or should I say late morning, we stopped by for a quick bite in Cauayan at a fastfood restaurant.  And afterwards, it was pure rock and roll of good cement and nice weather.  We reached our destination, the Avalan Beach Resort at about 3pm.  Oh what joy seeing friends from C! Magazine and the Motorsiklo News Talkshow.  Incredibly, I was told it was raining the whole, as I was about to find out, the weather did not fully cooperate, but that didn’t deter us from our mission there: to have fun.

The Partakan 3 was actually a collection of many events that happened all around Sta. Ana.  The Amazing Ride (ala-Amazing Race) is an activity where riders challenged themselves into doing tasks at specific places covering the entire length of Northern Luzon.  Each group has 5 members and all members should reach the destinations together.   The Auto-Moto Speed Challenge is basically a drag race, which were set to happen at an airport strip but last minute changes moved the venue to 2 different places for the cars and motorcycles respectively.   The Yamaha Beach Volleyball happened at the Pozo Robo Beach where the riders battled it out for supremacy in the sand.  At the market, the Yamaha conducted Ride Clinic for Kids, which is grassroots program for learning the motorcycle operation at an early age.  The evening witnessed melodic noises as musicians competed for the Battle of the Bands. Fittingly, capping the battle was music by the Chong Keys where they entertained the crowd with their reggae music, timely taps on the drums, and their catchy tunes.  It was a day filled of activities, fun and entertainment.  Yes there was torrential rain but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach, the activities, and the companionship of friends.  Another one for the books of my motorcycling life.

It’ll be another 365 days that I have to wait to again join the next Partakan Ride and Rock Festival. I am looking forward to it.

My backride Mhai and I would like to thank Ropali, the Alingog family for again letting me be witness to the incredible event called Partakan. Thanks Ms. Cristy Eltagon for the accommodation all the way.  I thank my C! Magazine friends for the companionship Maynard Marcelo, Jun Vinluan and Randy Rosalada.  Thanks Motorsiklo News Magazine Joel Joya, Alex Alo, Donna Alo, Johnny Celino, Eli Coquila and Sheryl Bermejo   for being there also.  My ride companions to Aparri, the Dark Horse Manila, Mel Aquino, Classic Kit, Aldrin Anderson, Goeff Anderson and Vincent Blas.  Thank you Ms. Dian Dayag of Tuguegarao Tygers and Hotel Dian for accommodating our good friends at her awesome motorcycle lifestyle-inspired resort.
